The Wind in the Willows | Initial Design Development.
As part of a new promotional mailer the following work is part of a design process for the classic story. Looking at full scenes, line work and coloured vignettes. First character developed is Mole, who features in the first chapter - The River Bank. Hand painted textures are balanced with ink drawings of the characters and incidental objects that will be key to the story. My aim is to capture the essence of the text but retain a sense of mystery of the surroundings. The tale was originally written with out illustrations and has been attempted many times.
